Provides full maltiness and some color, often with a nutty flavor. Used in European amber, golden and brown lagers as well as Marzen and Oktoberfest beers. Can be used 100% of the grist.
Reduces the pH value of the wort, which results in improved mash enzyme activity and greater yield. Provides a rounder, fuller character, enhancing the flavor of Pilsners and other light lagers.
Increases beer color, mouth feel and malt character. Used in dark, aromatic and full-bodied lagers such as Märzens, Oktoberfests, Bocks and Double Bocks. Can be used 100% of the grist.
A high-dried kilned malt. This flavorful non-crystallized malt is ideal for all types of red and dark lagers and ales, and “malt bombs” such as Doppel Bock. Can be used 20% of the grist.
German malt smoked over Beechwood. Delivers the typical “Bamberg” rauch bier flavor. Contributes a clean, dry beechwood smoke character.
Our lightest Caramel Pils malt is fully modified and saccharified at high humidity. The malt sugars are caramelized and become glassy inside the malt kernel. Used at 40% of the grist.
Malted from choice, well modified, low-protein German barley. The resultant beers are light colored, clean, full-bodied and malty. Perfect for Pilsners and Kölsch, Wits, and Tripels.
